Welcome to my personal website, an opportunity for me to share some of my professional journalistic work and personal musings. I aim to create a better understanding of the world — a mission which has cast me in many different roles: journalist, documentary filmmaker, speaker, and media innovator. Read more of my work below, ranging from published features and documentaries to more informal blog posts.

I’ve been a journalist for more than a decade, covering security, terrorism, governance, health, the economy and current affairs in Africa.

I love engaging with the projects I work on, diving headfirst into the research, investigation, and production of the stories I feel are important.

I am a curious, deep-thinking journalist and documentary filmmaker interested in the latest digital media trends and passionate about the future of storytelling.

I hold an M.A in Documentary Practices (Distinction) from the University for the Creative Arts and a B.A in Broadcast Journalism at the United States International University - Africa.

I currently run Debunk Media; an independent digital media outfit working out of Nairobi. I am also an adjunct professor of film and journalism at the United States International University - Africa.
